About Me

Supply shopping in my best dressed.

Hello! I am a senior, majoring in English. My main focus in my studies revolve around storytelling: how to tell one, what makes a good story, what makes a good storyteller. Post-graduation, I plan to work for a publishing house where I get to learn more about the storytelling process (how are stories chosen for society).

Important things about me:

  • My favorite color is red.
  • I am from Miami, FL.
  • I am Cuban-American.
  • I love pizza.
  • I like cats but dogs are my favorite.
  • I recently got into dental hygiene.
  • My favorite artist is Frida Kahlo.
  • I like to dance.
  • and cause scenes.
  • Pizza is my favorite food in the world.
  • (and so are chicken tenders).

This blog is a focus on Italo Calvino’s Memos for the Next Millennium, and how it can be applied to the design and content to a new form of literature, e-lit or… internet literature.

…or as Professor Gregory Ulmer puts it here:

“the blog memos are a “learning screen” rather than a research paper. The purpose is not information or coverage of the field of Internet Literature, but to support an initial acquaintance with this new art form. The blog itself is an “e” medium, bringing your response into better relationship with the object of study. The comments in italics added to the Post requirements below reflect lessons learned from blogs composed by students in 09. These additions are designed to help make each blog unique, particular to its composer, and more expressive of the experience of e-lit.

I decided to take this class because the internet is a major outlet for creative processes today and I want to see how internet literature — which has many opportunities for to deviate from the norm — has affected literature.
